Joey Logano crossed into the infield of Myrtle Beach Speedway hoping to get his Pro Cup Championship Series back on track. Bad luck seemed to rear its ugly head in practice, when motor problems developed after the 10th lap of practice blowing the motor. Had to put a new motor in the car. Joey only got five laps in before qualifying. Joey was the 1st car out to qualify. Undeterred, Joey scored his first ever Pro Cup Pole award with his #5l Joe Gibbs Performance Oil Car. Unfortunately Joey faced handling issues and came home 18th. |

Had a good car at qualifying, but once the race started the car started to tighten up a lot. We ran around in the top five for most of the night. With about 12 laps to go, Joey got into the back of Bobby Gill by accident. Pro Cup Officials saw it as rough driving and they put Joey to the rear. That basically ended the night, but Joey managed getting up to 17th. |

Hooters Pro Cup event turned into a three day weekend for most, but due to another competitor dropping oil on the track during the beginning of the race, Joey Logano's #51 machine, along with several others suffered major damage after making contact with the wall after getting into oil on the 3rd corner of the track. Joey was running 6th at the time. He did not return for the rain delayed event on Sunday and was credited with the 36th position. |

This time everything worked in the favor of the #51 team, allowing Joey Logano to cruise to his second victory of the season and his third overall Pro Cup Victory. "It feels awesome,"said Joey. I'll tell you what, we needed this more than anything. We've been struggling. |

| Joey qualified fifth for the event, was running up in the lead pack when Bobby Gill and Trevor Bayne made contact with only 30 laps to go. Logano got caught in the incident and wrecked hard with his #51 Joe Gibbs Racing Oil Chevrolet. It was not the first incident of the evening for Joey. Early in the race, he damaged the front end of his Chevrolet after a pit road incident with Shane Huffman's #88 car. Logano was able to battle back from that however. "We came in and got it fixed up as good as we could and we were really coming back up through the field. It's just too bad it had to end like that". | |||

"We turned a bad situation into a
halfway decent situation tonight" said Logano. "It was a rough
night, or at least looked like it was going to be a bad one. We
were third quickest in practice. We went out to qualify and the
car was no good. The car was tight, I can promise you that. The
car was just as tight all night long, then.
"On lap 70, we got spun out. When I
had spun out and had all those cars looking at me, it was wild.
That was no fun. So we came in early and got our tires and tried
to loosen the car up and it was still tight. It was a bear to
drive; that's for sure. "We went to the front, went to the back,
went to the front, went to the back. We did that about six times.
I'm happy with it. To have all of that happen and come back and
get a top 10 finish tells a lot about this team."

| Joey Logano and his #51 Joe Gibbs Performance Oil team never found themselves outside of the top 10 all night long. When the field came into the pits for the one and only pit stop during the night, Logano's team got him out up front, only losing out to eventual winner Clay Rogers. | |||

Every week the Joe Gibbs
Racing Oil sponsored #51 is one of top 5 fastest cars in
practice. Unfortunately, Joey has had one bad-luck
headache after another all too often this season. It
was another story of heartbreak for Logano at Myrtle
Beach Speedway.
The Joe Gibbs Racing Driver suffered a mechanical
problem late in the race that relegated him to a
frustrating 28th place finish.
"It was just going as a normal race for
us." said Logano. "I go to a track and I take what the
car will give me. "It stinks when a two-cent piece
puts you out of the race. We had another great pit
stop. I kind of got stuck in my pit stall and when I
came out, I hit "Shane
Huffman). It wasn't intentionally obviously. I
couldn't get it turned back in time and I couldn't stop
in time. I tried to hit the brakes, but I couldn't stop
in time. Things happen I guess. "We had an awesome
car. It bites. If you had a car that was a piece of
junk and something like that happens, then oh well. But
when you have a car this good, this makes you mad".
Joey was in 2nd place with 80 laps to go, when he was
blacked flagged.

| Joey Logano and Northern Division competitor Jeff Agnew tangled in the waning laps while battling for third (Lap 10). Joey was in 3rd for 30 laps when Agnew sent Logano spinning and received a rough driving penalty, negating any chance for either driver to fight for the win. With 5 laps to go Joey managed to hold on to 7th position with his Joe Gibbs Performance Oil Chev. You can see this race on the Speed Channel this Wednesday night @ 5:00pm ET. | |||

| Joey in his Joe Gibbs Racing Oil Chevrolet once again had a top-five finish spoiled by a tire problem, Joey managed to hold on a top-10 finish, grabbing ninth place. "We ran in the top-five all night before something went wrong with the tire at the end with 30 laps to go. The Joe Gibbs Racing Oil Chevrolet was content to ride in contention before the first round of pit stops. When it came time for new tires and fuel, Logano's crew once again got him back off pit road first. "My team does an awesome job every time, I'm really proud of them." | |||

| As the field of USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series drove beneath the opening green flag, Joey Logano was one of the drivers just happy to see the race finally get going. Because Joey and everyone involved with the #51 Chevrolet had already been through the ringer before the first lap even began. Joey fought through mechanical problems in practice, having to switch to a backup car before qualifying, and more troubles before time trails and was still able to qualify second and finish fourth." This was definitely the weirdest day I've ever had at the racetrack", said the 15 year old two time Hooters Pro Cup winner. "We go out in practice and we're in the top five in speeds but then we have an engine problem that forces us to go to a backup car. Then before qualifying we have a throttle linkage problem. We were still able to qualify second which was pretty cool for only having five laps of practice on the car. "The crew gave me an awesome pit stop tonight. "I'm really proud of the guys because they really work hard on these cars". Before the next race, Joey will be making an appearance on television as part of a feature on up and coming drivers on SPEED this Thursday, Check your local listings for times. | |||
