Logano continued his impressive streak on Saturday at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA.  In his first-career stock car road race, Logano qualified second and led a bunch of laps before an engine problem relegated the youngster to a 32nd-place finish.

“I had a bunch of fun out there,” said Logano.  “I love racing on the road course.  I swear I shifted about 20 times in a lap.  It was a lot of fun.

“We got into a little accident there a few laps before the engine let go, but that had nothing to do with what happened.  It just stinks that it happened.  I think it was going to be a three-car race there at the end between (NASCAR Nextel Cup star David) Gilliland, (road racing standout PJ) Jones and us.”

Joey won in his first NASCAR Touring Series event. He started second, asserted his team's strength and won in his first career NASCAR Grand National start.  He led the most laps, 69 of 158, and won by a margin of 1.3 second.   Joey becomes the first NASCAR Busch East Series driver to secure a spot in the rich and prestigious postseason NASCAR Toyota All Star Showdown at Irwindale, CA Speedway Oct. 19-20.  Joe Gibbs Racing rookie teammates (Joey & Marc Davis) posted a stunning 1-2 finish at Phoenix Int'l Raceway.
"Green-white-checker and we're starting door-to-door, that was great for Joe Gibbs Racing."
